The 45th Yosakoi Festival (1998)

The bad weather continued this year and I was worried about it affecting the Festival. On Aug.10 when I went to Kochi, it begun raining as the RKC TV broadcast started at 2:00pm. It didn't rain heavily for very long, but some teams had to dance in the rain. Luckily the next day was fair and sunny skies returned to the southern so I was relieved.
The weather was fine on Aug.12, too and the Post Festival show, held at the Central park, was so exciting. Nineteen Award Winning Teams participated and displayed hot dancing.
Central Park'98
1998/YOSAKOI Projects carried out Internet live broadcasts, using RealSystem, on Aug.10 and Aug.11 with the cooperation of RKC Kochi Broadcasting Co. and Kikuchi seminar, Kochi University.
NTT DoCoMo Kiosk
And using MobileView (NTT DoCoMo's mobile moving picture transfer system utilizing cellular phone technology) we cooperated with NTT DoCoMo Shikoku, to present images of the NTT DoCoMo Team and others at the Kiosk in front of the Washington hotel.
While the other staff worked I took photographs of the festival. You can see some of them at the Photo Gallery'98.
